C. Alix Timko, Ph.D.

Biography Dr. Alix Timko is a clinical psychologist and researcher. She received her Master's degree in clinical psychology from MCP Hahnemann University and her Ph.D. in clinical psychology from Drexel University. She completed her pre-doctoral internship at the Center for Counseling and Student Development at the University of Delaware and her post-doctoral residency at the Renfrew Center of Philadelphia. The latter is a residential facility for women with eating disorders. Her research interests include the treatment and prevention of disordered eating in adolescent males and females, understanding the differences between dieting and restraint, and the use of acceptance-based treatment with adolescents. Dr. Timko joined the faculty of Towson University in Fall of 2007. She teaches in both the Clinical and Counseling graduate programs. She is a licensed psychologist in both Pennsylvania and Maryland, and maintains a small, part-time private practice outside of Philadelphia. Abbreviated Vita License
