David Bergman is the
editor, and translator of over a dozen books, including the
award-winning Cracking the Code,
Gaiety Transfigured, and
Men on Men 2000.
His poetry and commentary have appeared in The New Republic, The Paris Review, Poetry, American Poetry Review, and The Yale Review, among many other
journals and magazines.
David is poetry editor for The Gay and Lesbian Review Worldwide, and serves on the editorial boards of The Kenyon Review, American Literary History, and The Harrington Quarterly of Gay Men’s Fiction.
A teacher at Towson University for over 30 years, Dr. Bergman helped found their program in Cultural Studies, one of the first such undergraduate programs in the country. He also served as the first director of the Program in Lesbian and Gay Studies.
