Fall 2006 Audition Details

Auditions for the Symphonic Band will take place during the first week of school.

• All who wish to perform in the band must audition. The only exception is the percussion section. Mr. Rauschenberg will assign the six performers to the band.
• The majority of the times for audition will be during the regular symphonic band rehearsal time.
• Sign up for audition time on sheet outside of Dr. Rothlisberger’s studio.
• Auditions will be held in Dr. Rothlisberger’s studio—Room 3089

Audition may consist of the following:

• Scales
• Two excerpts which can be downloaded. (See below)
• Tuning to unison, fourth, fifth, third
• One excerpt that you supply showing your finest musical skill.

AUDITION EXCERPTS

The audition excerpts consist of two pages. You must click on each excerpt, which will then download a .pdf file of that page. Print the page and bring it with you to the audition.

Page 1 is from Missouri Shindig, and page 2 is from Star Above, Shine Brightly. Prepare the entire page. However, only portions will be asked of you during the audition.
