Side Trilogy Info:
The Mirratord:
The Best of the Best amongst the Elite Warriors. A secret special missions group that take their orders directly from the Elite High Council. They are a group of warriors that are selected and trained to perform missions that no other group can do. There are those who believe that the Mirratord are nothing but a Legend as no evidence of them exists. They are known by three distinct
characteristics: three equal length purple bars upon their shoulder armor, dual single blade energy swords, and high powered energy shields.
- Known as "The Right Hand of the Elite High Council", they are
primarily used to spy, assassinate and capture those who prove a threat to the Elite society. They have never been activated during the Human-Covenant War until it became evident that the Prophets were up to something. The destruction of Halo by the Demon (Spartan 117) also forced the Elite's to put them into service. However, it proved troublesome as the Elites did not want the Prophets to discover their secret service.
- The history of the Elite Council states that the Mirratord have only been used in one encounter against the Humans. They were assigned to the High Prophet of Regret's battle group and were going to attack Earth. However, thanks to Regrets impatience, the Mirratord did not see combat until well after Regret had escaped to Delta Halo. The Mirratord, under the
disguise of normal Spec Ops Elites, traveled with an Elite Councilor (Elder Bartello) to oversee the battle. Their ship, the Life and Sacrifice, landed upon the human world in a city named Port Said on October 21, 2552. Of the Life and Sacrifice's compliment of 1500
Covenant troops, there were only 10 Mirratord Warriors. The Mirratord led the initial charge into Port Said and took the city from the humans in twenty minutes. Seeing that the humans weren't putting up much of a fight, the Mirratord returned to their duties and guarded the Councilor
stationed on ship, leaving the other covenant forces to clean up any straggling humans. This over confidence led to the Mirratord being caught off guard by the Prophet's betrayal.
- Of the Mirratord's full compliment of 100 trained, tested, and hand selected warriors (40 field officers and 60 command), they have only lost 2 in combat, prior to the Prophets
betrayal.
Senior officers:
- Mirratord Chief of Operations: High Elder of the Elite High Council
- 1st: Special Operations Commander, Rtas Vadumee (confirmed)
- 2nd: Lieutenant Rin Simyaldee
ONI Black Operations: At the wake of the Covenant-Human war, the Office of Naval Intelligence began massive research into who and what the Covenant are; although the phrase ‘Covenant’ did not become clear until many years into the war. After learning that simple military actions were not going to be enough, ONI used resources from within the UNSC (United Nations Space Command) to begin gathering intelligence on this enemy, no matter the cost.
Codename: Black Operations.
- The details of the ONI Black Ops are shady, at best. There are no official records, no rosters, no database of soldier names, and even their existence within the UNSC is a mystery. For fifteen years the details of their actions were stored in one place, the CASTLE facility. Amongst hundreds of the Secure Files found at the base on Reach, Colonel Ackerson proposed to use what was learned from the Spartan II project in order to ‘enhance’ normal marines; Project EaMP. Secretly this program was a Blue Book cover-up for Ackerson's SIII program. The project was a complete failure … on record. However, off record the project was a complete success. All data for the “Enhance Marine Program” was destroyed, when the NOVA was activated by Spartan 117 and his team after Reach was overrun by the Covenant.
- The EaMP program began on Troy, on January 12, 2539. The program was being viewed as a faster and less time consuming Super Soldier program. 50 test marines, male and female, volunteered for the program believing that they would become soldiers as strong as the Spartans and help save humanity, however the true purpose of the EaMP was to test human muscle augmentations. 25 of the test subjects were killed in order to understand all side affects of the treatment. The second 25 then received the full treatment, utilizing what was gained from those that were ‘sacrificed’, yet 5 still died during the operation. On Record, only the surviving 20 participants volunteered, the other 30 ‘sacrificed’ participants were never cataloged and thusly their deaths were never recorded. Their names were secretly added to the Harvest list of K.I.A.
- There were 3 Phases to the SIII research program:
- Phase 1: EaMP Program; Enhanced Marine Program suggested to the UNSC and ONI to assist the Spartan II. This process was proposed and emplemented by Doctor Carolyn Smith. These soldiers would be volunteers of 20 (secretly 50), and undergo surgery to apply Muscle Enhancements.
- Phase 2: Training the EaMP’s and observational Study. This would prove to the UNSC and ONI brass that super soldiers could be created within 3 days. Unlike the 6 years for the Spartan II project.
- Phase 3: Autopsy of surviving EaMP’s. Those that survived Phase 1 would eventually die because of Muscle degradation. Studying their carcasses would help prepare the S III program from suffering this fate.
- The Black Ops were born from the surviving EaMP program, however, Colonel Ackerson knew that they would eventually die from their treatments; they were only used for research into the SIII Program. After countless drills and displays of skill, the Black Ops began to feel the side affects of the muscle enhancements. Dr. Carolyn Smith found a way to save their lives, however the procedure reduced their strength by eighty percent.
- The survivors were eventually taken into ONI’s Black Operations Division, and used to infiltrate and spy on Covenant activities. Their last mission was during a mission to assist the evacuation of Troy. The mission was unlike anything the Black Ops performed, as it meant working in the open, and not in the shadows. They were the last to leave the planet after the UNSC had already ordered all ships to exit system. During the mission, the black ops lost half their squad, including SCPO Kim 04, the squad leader.
