Jan
Baum received her Master of Fine Arts degree from University of
Massachusetts Dartmouth (New Bedford,
MA) in 1994 and her
Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Arcadia University (Glenside, PA)
in 1988. After a 6-year stint on the west coast, Baum has returned
to the
east coast as Director of the Metalsmithing & Jewelry program
at Towson University in Baltimore, Maryland. Her work has two areas
of focus
the wearable container and ornament and decoration. See “Gallery” for

current exhibition information.
Baum
is a frequent Visiting Lecturer and teaches workshops around the
country. In February of 2004, she will be a presenter
at the annual Yuma
Conference.
In May of 2003 she completed a four-year term on the Board of
Directors of the Society of North American Goldsmiths. She
is member of the
local Metals Guild of Maryland.
