Education:

B.A. in Psychology, Siena College, 1993
M.A. in Experimental Psychology, SUNY Cortland, 1995
Ph.D. in Experimental Psychology, Ohio University, 2000

Research Interests:

I am a social psychologist who uses quantitative research to investigate the psychology of the self. In particular, I am interested in how social comparisons affect peoples’ evaluations of themselves and their close relationships and, more broadly, in how people deal with threats to positive feelings about themselves and their relationships.

Teaching Interests:

I teach undergraduate courses in social psychology, statistics, and research methods. I also teach a graduate "Proseminar" and a special topics course on "the self".
