Online research sign-up system

The Psychology Department has implemented a new web-based sign-up system for research studies. This allows students to sign up for studies on any computer that is connected to the internet. The system will also keep a record of all the studies you have completed this semester.

Sign-ups will be available at researchpool.towson.edu Research studies will be added to the site throughout the semester.

To sign-up for a study and/or to complete the intro psych research exposure requirement, you will need to create a researchpool account.

Creating a researchpool account:

• Using any web browser, go to researchpool.towson.edu
• Click on New User—Request account
• Enter your name
• Enter the user id that you use to register for classes (this is the same as the username that is used for your @towson.edu email account).
• Student ID number and phone number are not required: You may leave them blank.
• Select the psychology courses that you are taking this semester (be sure to select all of your psychology courses).

The administrator of the researchpool will email you with your researchpool username and password. Although the researchpool system will allow you to select an alternative email address later, this first email will be sent to your @towson.edu email address.

To access your @towson.edu email account (All students have an account regardless of whether you have used it before):

• Go to webmail.towson.edu
• Enter your username and password. These are the same username and password that you use to register for classes.

Note: If you do not receive a confirmation email within 48 hours of creating an account, you should try again. Make sure you are using the same username that is used for your @towson.edu email address.
