This course is a thematic approach to art history. Lectures include themes such as the human figure, landscape, heroes and heroines, sacred art,  fantasy, and political statement.  Examples from a broad range of time periods and cultures are discussed.  The syllabus outlines the course objectives and requirements.

Museum Hot Links

Students are expected to independently visit museums in order to make direct observations of original art.
A written museum assignment is to be completed by each student based on their experience.
The art department also sponsors bus tours to Washington, D.C. and New York .
