My Old Cats

Samson was born in August 1992, and died on March 24, 1998. He was a daredevil cat who loved walking on high railings, climbing ladders, and so on. Ironically, he died after falling off a 2-foot-high file cabinet, apparently breaking his neck.

I named him Samson because his mother's name was Samantha, so he was the "son of Sam." He was also the only one in his litter to survive. Sammy became "some bunny special" a few Easters ago. I got Sammy when he was just a few weeks old, and while he was still a kitten he developed a sinus problem. The vet gave me some medicine to give him from an eyedropper. It made him better, and from that time on he loved to drink water from an eyedropper. Every time I would go to the kitchen sink, he would jump into his special chair and wait for me to fill his eyedropper, then lap it down as though it were the best treat in the world. If you have QuickTime on your computer, you can watch him getting his "nips."

Kitten Caboodle was born in November 1982, and unfortunately died Nov. 11, 1997, just before her 15th birthday. Caboodle must have been a model in a previous life ("pet" of the month?) because she just loved to pose and be told how pretty she was.
