ABOUT ME |
MS JUDITH G. MACKS about me
I specialize in mathematics education and have a particular interest in finding ways to help all students learn mathematics meaningfully. Prior to joining the Mathematics Department of the Towson University in 1986, I taught mathematics in Baltimore County Public Schools and at local community colleges. I earned a BA from Western Maryland College, now McDaniel College, and an MEd from Loyola College.
Here at Towson University, I enjoy working with pre-service and in-service teachers. I teach both the mathematics content courses and the methods courses for people majoring in elementary education, early childhood education and special education.
Working with individual schools, school systems, the Maryland State Department of Education and the Teachers' Institute at Goucher College, I provide professional development experiences intended to enhance the mathematical and pedagogic knowledge of in-service elementary and middle school teachers.
Currently I teach Math 204, Mathematical Concepts and Structures I, and Math 321, Methods of Teaching Mathematics in early Childhood Education. |
