I was born and raised in Lancaster,
PA. the oldest of six children. Graduating from the University of
Maryland in 1970 with a Bachelor's degree in Health, I married and immediately
started graduate work in Health, finishing with a Master's of Arts in 1971.
After teaching eighth grade health education for two years, I was recruited
to teach at Towson State University in 1973 and taught courses in curriculum,
methods, organization and management, and program planning. In 1982 I received
an Ed.D.. from George Washington University in Human Resource Development
and Adult Education which eventually led to my position in the
Center for Instructional Advancement and Technology
and the Honors College.
I have been teaching courses in Human Resource Development, including
leadership development and team building since 1987. We have two daughters
and live in Towson, Maryland.
