Finding Articles

Indexes listed below will help you locate journal articles.  Indexes without an electronic
link are in paper format and are located on the Index Tables near the Reference Desk
on the Third (Main) Floor of Cook Library.  Don't be discouraged if some articles are
not available full-text.  Check with a staff member at the reference desk - your article
may be available in print or through another database. 

Check here for ways to decide if the article you have chosen is of a popular or
scholarly
nature.   Remember to use Researchport when accessing these databases off
campus!  

  • ABI/Inform  An abstracted index to articles in business and management publications
    in such areas as accounting, banking, finance, marketing, human resources,
    insurance, real estate, technology, etc.
     

  • Academic Search Premier  Journal article citations, abstracts and some full text
    covering the Arts, Cognitive Studies, Film, Humanities, Religious Studies, Science,
    and Sociology.
     

  • Humanities Abstracts   Journal citations and abstracts for art, film, folklore, literature,
    linguistics, music, philosophy and religious studies.

     

  • Lexis Nexis Academic Provides articles and documents from business, legal, and
    government sources. Includes reference material and biographical information.
     

  • MasterFILE   Covers general interest topics such as general reference, health,

  • JSTOR  Digital image archive of over 100 core scholarly journals. Articles containing
    full text plus graphics, charts, tables, etc.
     

  • Social Science Abstracts   Journal citations and abstracts for anthropology, economics,
    political science, and sociology.

  • Project Muse  Offers a collection of multidisciplinary journals published by the
