  Citing in APA Style

Generally, the preferred style for the papers that you write in ISTC courses is APA (American Psychological Association). Cook Library has several copies of this style guide, which is called Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association on Faculty Reserve. Ask for it at the Circulation desk where it is shelved under the call number BF76.7 P83.

Brief guides to using APA style are available on the Cook Library Web site. I highly recommend Diane Hacker's excellent guide for citing in APA style: Social Sciences:Documenting Sources
.

  • Note that when you are using articles that are available in full text through a database or Web sites, you must cite them according to the examples given in APA Style for Electronic Sources.
  • Citing ERIC in APA Format provides examples of how to cite ERIC Digests and documents.
