Nanotechnology Laboratory
The Nanotechnology Laboratory at Towson University
focuses on quantitative measurements of nanometer/micrometer scale
objects using scanning probe microscopy. The laboratory has two
commercially purchased SPMs, both purchased from grants from the
National Science Foundation. These instruments are easy to use,
relatively inexpensive, and extremely powerful. They are multidisciplinary,
allowing for cross - cutting experiments in Biology, Chemistry,
Geology, Physics, and Engineering. In addition to work with other
disciplines at TU, collaborative work has been performed with
groups at Howard University, Kodak, CopyTel, UMBC, Purdue University,
and the University of Maryland, College Park (to name a few).
