Body / Kinesthetic & Visual / Spatial Lesson Plan by Quenton Linyear

Background

The lesson is geared towards students who exhibit body/kinesthetic and visual/spatial intelligences. This lesson is centered on the Civil War with emphasis on the Battle of Gettysburg. The students will produce a multimedia project using HyperStudio. This project will be similar to an “information kiosk”. with engaging media to “tell a story” about the Battle of Gettysburg. The students have knowledge of Civil War events that took place before the War of Gettysburg. They are also familiar with HyperStudio, Windows, digital and video cameras.

Lesson Description

The students will take a field trip to Gettysburg, Pennsylvania for the purpose of aquiring media (audio, video, digital still pictures, written information) to produce a multimedia project using HyperStudio. Students may not include more that four digital pictures and two quick times movies (video). Projects do not have to be all-inclusive (i.e. touching every point) on the War of Gettysburg and students will have significant leeway about what is included.

They can also use audio from other sources, if desired.

• The students will create their projects in the computer lab and save their work on Zip disks.
